The Mayor of Reading's International Women's Day Fundraiser

Join the Mayor of Reading for a special evening celebrating International Women’s Day! This inspiring event will highlight the amazing contributions of women across different cultures and communities through a series of heartfelt talks and captivating performances.

This celebration was inspired by one of the Mayor’s chosen charities the Reading Community Learning Centre, who approached the Mayor to help shine a spotlight on women’s achievements while supporting two incredible local causes. The Reading Community Learning Centre works tirelessly to empower women and families from ethnic minority backgrounds in Reading, helping them thrive and connect in our community.

Proceeds from the evening will support the Mayor of Reading’s chosen charities, which he fundraises for throughout his Mayoral year.

Reading Community Learning Centre – Advocating for women and families in our town.
Reading Prostate Cancer Support Group – Supporting families affected by prostate cancer.

Let’s come together to celebrate, inspire, and make a difference. Whether you’re a long-time supporter of these causes or new to the conversation, this evening promises to be moving, uplifting, and a great way to celebrate the women who shape our world. We can’t wait to see you there!

BAFA Walking Group

Well done to all at yesterday's walk. Despite many detours, boggy fields, wet feet, climbing stiles, and swinging on gates, we enjoyed it with many tears of laughter. The walk took place on Saturday 30th March meeting at point 1 car park at 9:15am, the 5.1-km circular trail near Pangbourne, Berkshire. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 1 h 7 min to complete. This is a popular trail for hiking, running, and walking, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day. The best times to visit this trail are March through October.
