Join BAFA on our Monthly Health Walk, Times and Dates will be Displayed Below
On 31st August 2024, despite the high winds and the chill in the air, the BAFA WALKING group took to the woodlands in Nettlebed. Only their chatter and laughter awakening the serene stillness of the early morning. Passing by the Old Kiln, a historic structure used for brick making in the Middle Ages, allotments and finally for lunch at the Cheese Shed. The group enjoyed the delicious cheese toasties and other homemade delights. Well worth it!

Our last walk along the Kennet and Avon Canal
In July the BAFA Walking group took to the path along the Kennet and Avon Canal, which lead them through Thatcham and Newbury. The weather was that of a typical summers day and there was lots of activities seen along the way. Bikers, runners, other walkers, excitable dogs and friendly residents on their canal boats. The walkers had to be cautious when crossing the railway tracks. Scary! The walk ended, of course with tea and ice cream at the Nature Discovery Centre. Again, fun was had by all.

A message from our Walk Organiser, Heather Husbands - "Another splendid walk, as the BAFA Walking Group took to the Thames path, which led them through Henley and Aston. Wonderful views of swans and cygnets along the riverside and the vast expanse of farmland, where cows were lazing and sheltering from the midday heat. It was a typical summers day, enjoyed by all. The group later enjoyed lunch at the Mill Lane café. Well deserved!"

Our forth monthly jaunt took place at Littlewick Green in Maidenhead. Despite the threats of April showers, BAFA Walkers had a splendid time at Littlewick Green. Meandering through the woodlands and bypassing fields of rapeseed. Even the horses came to say hello. Crossing the A4 with caution, it was a fun day. Afterwards, some of the walkers had the urge to tuck into a tasty lunch.
